City Edition Jersey Launch

*** Edit: December 2021 - The Nuggets scrubbed all old videos from their social profiles, therefore some of the links are broken. I’ve left them in there so you can at least see what platform they lived on. I am working on tracking down the original files for the creative.

November 2019 - Jersey launches are one of my favorite parts of my job with the Nuggets. It’s one of the few times where we get to plan out our content well in advance and control our plan, as opposed to our team-driven content that hinges on the success of the team on the court.

This season we added to the team’s history of the unique skyline uniforms. Inspired by the iconic rainbow skyline uniforms of the 1980s we brought back the rainbow in a revised white rainbow skyline jersey during the 2018-19 season. For the 2019-2020 season we made a black rainbow skyline jersey.

Below is a look at our introduction to the freshest jersey in the NBA.

We started out with a simple tease a few hours before the release. Because our jersey had leaked the day before we went with a simple tease that clued fans in to what we were launching at 10 pm.

We followed up with this 360 degree rotation of Gary Harris wearing the jersey. During a photo shoot for the jersey I asked our photographer, Garrett Ellwood, to shoot the players in a way that I could turn them into an animation. Our designer, Bryan Smith, made the background and the combined effort turned into what I think is a really appealing piece. This video generated over half a million views.
